What Are The Qualities You Desire in Your New Job?

“WHAT MAKES YOUR HEART SING?”

How many of us are looking for a new job as a result of the Coronavirus lay-offs? Maybe we loved what we used to do and want to repeat that job or similar. But maybe, we feel like this is just the opportunity we needed to find something different to do in our daily lives. In other words, a new career.

But, doing what?

What will motivate you and make you happy? Consider:

Attainment/Fulfillment — enjoying stretching yourself when you undertake a difficult task — need to feel pride in using your skills —being challenged.

Being In “The Scene” — being involved and part of a high energy environment

Influential Leader — an opportunity to be recognized as a person with all the answers — setting the agenda for others — being sought out for the next step

Connections/People — Enjoying being part of a larger group, association, corporation, club, house of worship

Creative — needing an outlet for your creativity — think out of the box — be in an inventive environment.

Competitive — get energized by winning - compete for the prize

Each day your learning increases — continually expand your intellectual universe.

Current — Enjoy being at the cutting edge of fashion, news, electronics, thinking.

Improve the world — helping others, working for a cause — need to make a difference.

Mentoring- sharing yourself with a mind toward assisting another, usually a beginner

Problem solver — analyze where the heart of the matter lies and find solutions not seen by others.

Visibility — enjoy being in an environment where everyone knows your name.

Acquiring Wealth- working where the rewards are the highest, legal, and with the least hours — better known as PARADISE.

Think it over. Take your time and picture yourself in each of these environments. Where would you be most comfortable?

When you identify the one or two choices that turn you on, you can then determine which type of industry to seek employment. E.G., If your preference is Connection/People, you may wish to look for a job in a large corporation. And, if you also see yourself as a Problem Solver, you might aim for a job that encompasses this skill and is in a large association. Or, if your choice is being Creative, you might look for a job in a design studio or ad agency that’s small enough to offer Visibility so that everyone knows your name.

On the other hand, if your preference is Acquiring Wealth, please let me know where your new job is, and I’ll apply there, too. !!!

What's worse than an out-of-date profile, meaning I'm no longer 90. I'm lucky! Thanks for reading my stuff. Hope you like it as much as I do!.
